Gregynog Hall, one of Wales’ leading country houses, is preparing to welcome visitors to a Forest Fairy Trail on August Bank Holiday weekend. The 750 acres of grounds at Tregynon, near Newtown, are filled with undiscovered treasures and the Fairy Trail is an ideal way to explore the woodland walks around the Grade 1 listed gardens and historic landscape. Last year’s fairy trail was a fabulous success, attracting more than 400 visitors, with the forest filled with face painted fairies over four days. A brand-new Aldi store in Aberdare opened its doors to customers this morning at 8am, with Team GB rugby hero Sam Cross cutting the all-important red ribbon. The Aberdare store is the newest Aldi to open in Aberdare and will be run by Store Manager Paul Bibby, along with a team of 31 colleagues from the local community. A library with a difference has opened next to Swansea Beach. Rather than loaning books or films, the new Beach Library is there for families to borrow buckets, spades and other toys that make a visit to the seaside so memorable for children. North Wales Police are investigating reports of incidents in a wooded area of Holyhead. On Tuesday, 13th August, a report was received of a man approaching a woman who was walking in Penrhos Nature Reserve, before following her. In addition, police are looking into reports of a man indecently exposing himself in the same area on several occasions between March and May of this year.
