One man from Aberdare and one man from Newport have received football banning orders which prevents them from attending any UK football match for three years. The two men attended the Cardiff City vs Newport County game in the Vertu Trophy match on Tuesday October 7. Gavin Fernquest from Newport attended Cardiff Magistrates Court on Friday October 24 where he pleaded guilty to the offence of possession of a pyrotechnic device inside the stadium. South Wales Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at 3:12pm on Monday September 29, 2025, near Morrisons on Ffordd Y Mileniwm, Barry. The collision involved a black Mercedes C220 and pedestrian Jacqueline Ellis. Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone who is yet to come forward who may have witnessed the collision, the manner of driving before the collision, or have any dash-camera footage/CCTV which may be relevant to their investigation. Businesses in Wales have identified opportunities for growth and increased investment in equipment in Q3, but persistent concerns around taxation, labour costs and inflation remain according to Chambers Wales South East, South West and Mid’s latest Quarterly Economic Survey. Following completion of construction work, the path between Llanbadarn Fawr and The National Library of Wales will be open for use once again, just in time for Green Libraries Week (27 October – 02 November). Barriers have been removed from this popular path to improve accessibility, and the path has been widened with a new smooth surface making it suitable for shared use by cyclists and pedestrians. RSPCA Cymru has welcomed moves from Carmarthenshire County Council to improve dog breeding regulation in the county – and has backed their call for a nationwide review of the law around how dog breeders are licensed. The charity engaged in a consultation exercise from Carmarthenshire Council which looked at how the local authority licenses dog breeding locally.
