Biometric authentication has become the new standard for individuals accessing their betting accounts. This is according to a study done by the Digital Security Institute, which has shown that 76% of all app login activities for betting accounts involve fingerprint scanning or face recognition, as opposed to password authentication. The time taken for an individual to gain access to their betting app has reduced to 1.8 seconds from 12 seconds, which was the time taken with a password to gain access to their accounts. The speed at which an individual can gain access to their account, as offered by ixbet login , is quite fast for an individual who wants to check their account several times a day to check on their wagers. The use of biometric authentication has taken off sooner than expected, with an increase of 41% over an 18-month time frame.

This change is linked with specific benefits for the bettors, irrespective of their demographics. This technology is commonly used by the population of the people who frequently use the betting process. According to the statistics, the average 1xbet Cambodian user or the same users of the betting process all over the world uses their account 8-12 times a day for the purpose of betting or checking the results. According to the report of the International Biometric Security Association, which was published in 2026, the level of user satisfaction, which is linked with the use of biometric technology for the purpose of app login, is 87%, which is 23% more than the 64% level of user satisfaction, which was recorded upon the introduction of the technology into the betting process.

    Fingerprint vs. Face Recognition Usage

There are different levels of usage of different biometric technologies by the gamblers. Fingerprint scanning technology is the most used, which accounts for 68% of the total biometric logins to the betting platform. Face recognition technology accounts for 28% of the total biometric logins to the betting applications. The remaining 4% comprise other forms of scanning, such as voice and iris scanning. Here is a breakdown of the authentication methods used to gain access to the betting platform, including the time and context of their use:

The following data shows the types of access to the betting platform, with a focus on the use of modern technology and traditional methods such as manual entry.

Authentication Method Percentage of Total Logins Average Success Rate Typical Use Context
Fingerprint scan 52% 98.2% Quick betting balance checks
    Face recognition 21% 96.7% Hands-free betting situations
Password entry 24% 94.1% Shared betting devices
PIN codes 2% 99.1% Backup betting method
Pattern unlock 1% 97.3% Older betting devices

Fingerprint authentication leads among bettors because most phones have had fingerprint sensors for years. Face recognition is growing in the betting industry but still faces challenges in certain lighting conditions or when bettors wear glasses or masks while placing wagers. Error rates for face recognition on betting platforms have dropped from 8.3% in 2024 to just 3.3% in 2026.

    Improvements in Security Measured

The utilization of biometric authentication has led to a decrease of 89% in security breaches of betting account access. The reason for this is that betting sites that utilize biometric authentication have 89% fewer security breaches than those that utilize passwords. The most important improvement that has resulted from utilizing biometric authentication to access betting accounts is that it is difficult to replicate this data as opposed to the password.

    User Preference Data

Surveys carried out among users have revealed that there is a preference for the biometric form of authentication among bettors. For example, 81% of users of a betting application have their biometric login activated after being given a chance to do so within their first week of registering on the application. The remaining 19% of the bettors have cited that they are using traditional means of login as a result of their interest in their privacy.

    Speed and Convenience Metrics

The following data highlights the significant efficiency gains for users who choose biometric login methods over traditional passwords. These small time savings per login accumulate into hours of saved time for active bettors over the course of a year.

    • Morning login to check betting balance: Biometric 1.9 seconds vs. password 14.2 seconds.
    • During live betting on events: Biometric 1.6 seconds vs. password 11.8 seconds.
    • Multiple quick betting balance checks: Biometric 1.8 seconds vs. password 15.3 seconds.
    • After betting app updates: Biometric 2.1 seconds vs. password 13.7 seconds.
    • On public WiFi for betting: Biometric 2.3 seconds vs. password 16.4 seconds.

The speed advantage remains consistent for bettors across all contexts. Passwords take longer on public WiFi because many betting platforms require additional security steps when detecting unfamiliar networks. Biometric authentication for accessing betting accounts maintains similar speeds regardless of network conditions.

    Trends in Multi-Factor Authentication

While there is enough security provided by the biometric security system to protect the betting accounts, there is a trend towards providing security through multiple factors to ensure security for critical betting activities. For instance, there may be a need to have a second form of identification, such as a confirmatory message sent to the bettor’s phone or email, to withdraw winnings from a bet. The trend towards multi-factor authentication to protect bettors on a betting site increases to 67% in 2026 compared to 42% in 2024.

The bettors know that there is a second form of identification needed to withdraw their winnings, as this happens less often compared to needing to access their accounts to put in more bets.
