Law firm Blake Morgan has appointed Ruth Gingell as Business Development Manager for Wales, marking a significant investment in the firm’s growth ambitions.

Ruth joins Blake Morgan with 14 years of business development experience with law firm Pinsent Masons, where she most recently led business development initiatives for the Retail, Sport and Leisure sectors across multiple international jurisdictions.

A Cardiff native from Rhiwbina, Ruth returns to Wales after spending much of her career in London, driven by a desire to work for an organisation with strong roots and values. She will focus on business development opportunities across Wales while also supporting Blake Morgan’s Corporate and Employment practice areas firmwide.

During her time at Pinsent Masons, Ruth developed deep expertise across pensions, employment, regulatory and corporate law, working with major retailers, universities, public sector organisations and sports clients. Notable achievements include working with the Pensions Policy Institute to develop research on behavioural biases in pension saving, identifying barriers to people engaging with pensions, and helping providers tackle those challenges.

Ruth’s international experience spans multiple jurisdictions and cultures, giving her valuable insights into best practice that she will bring to Blake Morgan’s clients in Wales and further afield. She is known for her collaborative approach and for bringing together teams across different practice areas to deliver client value.

Beyond her professional role, Ruth is a School Governor at Llanishen Fach Primary School in Cardiff, a position she has held since November 2023, reflecting her commitment to the local community.

Eve Piffaretti, Head of Blake Morgan’s Wales office, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Ruth to our team in Cardiff. Her extensive business development experience, deep understanding of key sectors, and passion for Wales make her an excellent addition to Blake Morgan. Ruth’s appointment demonstrates our continued commitment to investing in our team in Wales and supporting our ambitious growth plans.”

    Ruth Gingell said:

“What really drew me to Blake Morgan was their commitment to social value and investing in communities and future generations. Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about work that goes beyond showcasing legal expertise and has a positive impact. Blake Morgan’s values around giving back really align with my own, and I’m delighted to join a law firm with such a strong reputation for social responsibility.

“I’m excited to get to know the team and look forward to working with clients and businesses across Wales to help them succeed while contributing to the communities that matter to us all.”
