General entries into the Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K have now sold out with one month to go until race day.

This means the only way runners are able to take part is through one of the charity spaces available, including with the event’s lead charity Tŷ Hafan, or in one of the supporting junior races.

The 10K race will be returning to the popular coastal town on Sunday 6 July and this year is set to be even bigger than ever before with a record 6,200 runners signed up across all races.

It ticks off all the highlights in the area including Rest Bay, Trecco Bay, Coney Bay, the picturesque town centre, historic Grand Pavillion and the iconic Porthcawl Lighthouse – and runners will also get the chance to cross the finish line on the seafront among the splashing waves.

Alongside the main event there will also be something for the whole family to get involved in including an adorable Toddler Dash, Future Challengers race for competitive young athletes as well as a Family Fun Run.

Steve Brace, Race Director at Run 4 Wales, said: “We’re really looking forward to returning to Porthcawl for the Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K and are excited this will be our biggest event yet with all general entries now gone and 6,200 runners registered to take part.

“As always expect a great atmosphere around the course and at the finish line and it will be a great day out for the whole family with lots to do in the event village and surrounding area.”

The Brecon Carreg Porthcawl 10K is the fourth event in the Run 4 Wales 2025 race calendar to sell out – alongside the ABP Newport Marathon Festival, Oysho Cardiff Half Marathon and Barry Island 10K.

Runners who’d still like to take part in a R4W event this year are encouraged to sign up to one of its remaining races early, either the Rabbit Run Wales or Brecon Carreg CDF 10K, to avoid disappointment.
