Swansea Bay Business Club held its annual flagship networking lunch on Friday (May 11) at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea.

Over 125 guests filled the room as business men and women from across the Swansea Bay City region came together for one of the business club’s biggest and most prestigious events of the year.

Former British Army medic Rory Mackenzie, who gave a rousing speech at the London Paralympics closing ceremony in 2012, was guest speaker at the event and told guests about his life journey since overcoming a roadside bomb injury in which he lost his leg in Afghanistan.

Swansea Bay Business Club President, Paul Gardner, said:

“We have a long and proud tradition of attracting high calibre speakers to our events, and they don’t come much more inspirational than Rory and the story behind the battles he faced whilst serving to protect our country in Afghanistan.

“Our flagship event is always one of our most prestigious events of the year and this year didn’t disappoint with another fantastic representation of business men and women from across the Swansea Bay City region taking full advantage of the first class networking opportunities provided by the event.”

Swansea Bay Business Club will continue its 2018 networking season, sponsored by Prescott Jones Insurance, next month when former National Farmer’s Union President, Meurig Raymond, joins guests at the Halliwell Centre in Carmarthen.

    Paul continued:

“We have made a commitment to expand our reach further in to West Wales over the last few years and we are continuing to host several events there each year during my presidency as we look to attract more members from that part of the region.

“Having one of West Wales’ most successful individuals join us as guest speaker only further enhances our offering to business men and women from the area as we look ahead to another fantastic afternoon of networking.”

Tickets for Swansea Bay Business Club’s June lunch with Meurig Raymond on Friday June 15 are priced at £25 for members and £30.50 for non-members, this includes a two-course lunch. Guests are asked to arrive at 12:15 for a 1pm lunch.

Bookings will close at midnight on Friday June 8, one week before the event.
