Caerphilly Council’s major investment into the business community

Over the past 4 years, Caerphilly Council has invested significantly into infrastructure to ensure Caerphilly is a Great Place to do Business.

The Place Shaping programme has focused a staggering £500m worth of investment to date, across a number of projects to support growth in the business and tourism of the county borough as part of an ambitious transformation blueprint.

A fine example of this investment is the ambitious regeneration blueprint to transform Caerphilly town centre. A sum of 36million will see the development of new business park, the development of a transport interchange, virgin media roll out to introduce high speed internet to the area.

Another example of a significant investment is the 6million investment to create two bespoke business parks Ty Du Nelson and the expansion of the Lawns Rhymney Industrial Estate.

Cllr. Eluned Stenner, Cabinet Member for Performance, Economy and Enterprise said, “The significant investment has focused on key priority areas helping to regenerate and breathe new life into our communities. Regeneration is the life blood of all that we do in Caerphilly Council to ensure our business community is supported and we are building communities fit for the future. We continue to work with our partners in Welsh Government to deliver largescale exciting projects on our high street and beyond.”

Residents will be asked to play a vital role in helping to shape the proposals, by identifying the missing pieces of the jigsaw to ensure that the council is targeting its investment where it is needed most. Details of how the community can get involved will be announced in the near future.
