Caerphilly’s leisure centres to reopen on a phased basis

Credit: Caerphilly Council

Following Welsh Government guidance, some of Caerphilly’s facilities will begin to reopen on Monday 10th May on a phased-basis. This date has been selected due to the services current commitments in supporting both the mass vaccination centre at Newbridge Leisure Centre and the upcoming Senedd and Police & Crime Commissioner elections.

The leisure centres that will initially reopen are:

Caerphilly Leisure Centre
Cefn Forest Leisure Centre
Heolddu Leisure Centre
Risca Leisure Centre

In order to maintain the efficiency of the vaccination programme, Newbridge Leisure Centre will not reopen on this date as it is currently being used as a mass vaccination centre. Further information will provided in this regard.

The same rules and regulations that we have adopted throughout the Coronavirus pandemic will be in effect including the need to wear face coverings, the requirement to pre-book sessions and the necessity to socially distance.
