Cardiff Bus alerts passengers to route diversions in Tremorfa

Cardiff Bus customers are being alerted to route diversions as a result of roadworks taking place in Tremorfa.

Pengam Road between Rover Way and Clydesmuir Road will be closed from 8:00am on Saturday 25 June to 10:00pm on Sunday 26 June.

As a result, the operator advises that services 1, 2, and 11 will be diverted.

Service 1 will follow its normal route to Newport Road/Rover Way junction, then divert along Newport Road, Beresford Road and Moorland Road and will return to its normal route at Habershon Street. Bus stops on Rover Way, Storrar Road and Tweedsmuir Road will not be served and as a result customers are being asked to bus stops along the diversion route.

Service 2 will follow its normal route to the end of Habershon Street, then divert along Moorland Road, Beresford Road and Newport Road, returning to its normal route at Colchester Avenue. Bus stops on Tweedsmuir Road, Storrar Road and Rover Way will not be served, and customers are asked to use bus stops along the diversion route as an alternative.

Service 11 will follow its normal route along Muirton Road, then run to Rover Way via Muirton Road, North Park Road, Moorland Road, Beresford Road and Newport Road.  Outbound and inbound bus stops along Clydesmuir Road, Pengam Road, Storrar Road and Tweedsmuir Road will not be served.  Instead customers are asked to use the bus stops at the top of Rover Way (near the junction with Newport Road) and the temporary bus stops that will be located on Muirton Road, near the junction with Tweedsmuir Road.

Gareth Stevens, Commercial Director of Cardiff Bus, reminds customers to plan their journeys before travelling.

He said: “We are set to divert some bus routes as a result of essential road resurfacing that will be taking place in Tremorfa. We will do everything possible to minimise the impact these route changes will have on our customers.  The alterations we have put in place are the shortest, and most efficient routes to minimise the disruption caused.

“We apologise for any inconvenience these diversions may cause and we would encourage all our customers to check details before travelling.”
