Landmarks across Cardiff will be lit up tonight to mark four years since the start of the war in Ukraine.

In a show of solidarity, both Cardiff Castle and the Roath Park Scott Memorial will be illuminated as part of a UK wide tribute to the people of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian flag will also fly above Cardiff Castle, reaffirming the city’s continued support for those affected by the conflict.

Cities and towns across the UK are taking part in similar acts of remembrance and solidarity, using light as a symbol of hope and unity four years on from the outbreak of war.

Cardiff Council said the gesture reflects the capital’s ongoing commitment to standing with Ukraine and its people during what remains an incredibly difficult time.

The illuminations are expected to be visible throughout the evening.
