Cardiff-based electric vehicle (EV) provider, FleetEV is celebrating victory at the Transport + Energy Awards 2025, after taking home the award for Best Public Sector Fleet Partnership. FleetEV was recognised for its work under the Welsh Government Procurement Framework for Electric Vehicles.
The 2025 Transport + Energy Awards is the third edition of the industry awards which recognise achievements in the transport and energy sectors. Hosted by presenter, screenwriter and author Konnie Huq, a total of 13 awards were presented, four of them for the first time this year.
The Best Public Sector Fleet Partnership award recognises a partnership which demonstrates a collaboration that has resulted in the decarbonisation of a fleet leading to a significant reduction in carbon emissions. The collaboration under the Welsh Government’s procurement framework stands out as a leading example of the type of transformational partnership the judges were looking for.
The judges said: “Their collaborative approach is delivering meaningful progress in decarbonising public sector fleets.”
Through the Welsh Government’s Collaborative Procurement Framework, FleetEV has helped public bodies across Wales accelerate their shift to cleaner transport, delivering more than 400 electric vehicles in 2024 alone. This large-scale adoption is directly cutting carbon emissions from public-sector fleets.
Beyond its environmental impact, the partnership has delivered significant financial benefits, generating over £1.2 million in savings when compared with traditional procurement routes. The work has been supported by a £45 million commercial delivery framework and has already recognised with a national GO Award for Best Procurement Delivery.
The Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Welsh Language, Mark Drakeford, said: “The Welsh Government is committed to achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050. Through our collaborative procurement framework, we are supporting public bodies to transition to electric vehicles, which is an important step toward that ambition. We welcome the recognition of these efforts at the Transport + Energy Awards.”
Jarrad Morris, Founder and CEO of FleetEV, said: “We are thrilled to have won the award for Best Public Sector Fleet Partnership. This recognition celebrates the power of collaboration between the public and private sectors to deliver cleaner, more efficient transport solutions.
“Working alongside the Welsh Government, we have been able to accelerate the transition of electric vehicles across Wales, reducing emissions, cutting costs, and paving the way for a greener future. This award is testament to what can be achieved when innovation, partnership, and sustainability come together.”
