To mark the Year of the Pig, the Cardiff Confucius Institute will be hosting a number of free workshops including lantern making, paper cutting and calligraphy.

The Cardiff Confucius Institute helps share Chinese culture and language in Wales, as well as supporting collaboration between Wales and China.

Visitors will have the chance to witness a theatrical Chinese Lion at live performances at 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm.

The Oriental Garden will also be on hand to offer visitors the full Chinese New Year feast experience with their oriental buffet.

Peng Lin from Cardiff Confucius Institute said:

“Everyone knows that Chinese New Year is a big, traditional celebration and this is a great opportunity for people to find out a little bit more about what it entails and join in the festivities for themselves.”

Emma Constantinou, Marketing Manager of the Red Dragon Centre, said: “Chinese New Year is celebrated around the world and we’re looking forward to bringing the colourful, enjoyable celebrations to Cardiff with our day of activities.”

The workshops will be held on Saturday 2nd February between 12-4pm.
