Cymru will face Romania in Bucharest on Saturday 6 June, with kick-off time yet to be confirmed. The two sides will meet for the first time since 1993.
The match will be played at the 31,000-seater Steaua Stadium, following a friendly for Craig Bellamy’s side against Ghana at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday 2 June.
The last meeting between the nations came during a crucial 1994 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Cardiff. On that occasion, goals from Gheorghe Hagi and Florin Răducioiu broke Welsh hearts and secured Romania’s place in the tournament.
The announcement comes after the sad passing of Romania’s head coach, Mircea Lucescu, last week. The Football Association of Wales has sent its condolences to his family, friends and everyone at the Romanian Football Federation.
Following the June international window, Cymru will begin their UEFA Nations League A campaign in the autumn, where they are set to face Denmark, Norway and Portugal.
Ticket details for the fixture against Romania will be confirmed in due course.
