Delays hit M4 and A470 routes into Cardiff

Drivers faced delays across several key routes into Cardiff on Wednesday morning as congestion built on the M4 and surrounding roads.

Traffic Wales warned of possible disruption on the M4 eastbound between Junction 34 at Miskin and Junction 32 at Coryton, a stretch that regularly sees heavy commuter traffic during peak hours.

Delays were also reported on the A470 southbound from Pontypridd towards Coryton, affecting motorists travelling into the capital from the valleys.

Further congestion was affecting the A4232 in both directions between Culverhouse Cross and the M4 at Junction 33 Capel Llanilltern, adding to pressure on the city’s main approaches.

Drivers were advised to allow extra time for their journeys and to consider alternative routes where possible as traffic levels remained high throughout the morning commute.
