Entries have opened for RideCymru 2027, the three-day, 250-mile cycling challenge from north to south Wales, which will take place from 10 to 12 September 2027.

The event, created by Threshold Sports, took 200 riders from Llandudno to Cardiff this September, crossing mountain roads in Eryri National Park and climbs in the Brecon Beacons.

RideCymru has grown by 300% since its 50-rider Pioneer Ride in 2025, and capacity for the 2027 event will increase by a further 10%.

The 2027 ride takes place two months after the Tour de France comes to Wales. On Sunday 4 July 2027, Stage 3 of the race will take place entirely in Wales, travelling 223km from Welshpool to Cardiff as part of the Grand Départ. It will be the first time the race has staged a full route through Wales.

The Welsh Government has announced a new three-year investment in RideCymru. The partnership aims to grow cycling tourism, increase participation and deliver economic benefits for communities and businesses across Wales.

Road cycling contributes more than £70 million in overnight visitor spend to the Welsh economy each year, with more than 200,000 overnight road cycling trips to Wales annually.

Nick Tuppen, CEO of Threshold Sports, said: “RideCymru was created to celebrate everything that makes cycling in Wales so special, and seeing more than 200 riders complete this year’s challenge has been an incredible milestone for the event. 2027 feels like a particularly exciting moment to be bringing RideCymru back. With the Tour de France coming to Wales for the first time, there has never been a more significant year for cycling here. We’re proud to be working alongside the Welsh Government to help showcase Wales to riders from across the UK and beyond, and we can’t wait to welcome the next group of riders to the wild heart of Wales.”

The ride is fully supported, with training support, food, accommodation, and medical and mechanical assistance included.

Entry starts from £715 for the Standard Package, which includes basecamp accommodation, or £1,650 for the Plus Package with hotel accommodation (single occupancy).

Riders can also secure a place for £300 by committing to raise a minimum of £1,500 for one of RideCymru’s charity partners, which will part-fund their entry and provide fundraising support. Corporate entry options are also available.
