Halloween has arrived early on S4C’s Stwnsh this year with the a new series of the challenging adventure show, Gwrach y Rhibyn (The Witch of Rhibyn). But this time, the challenge is even greater than before for the teams.

It’s ‘Dydd y Dychryn’ (The Day of Horror) once again and the Witch is hunting. The aim is the same for the competitors, to reach a safe shelter before sunset. But this time not everyone will reach the end.

The series, which returns to S4C on Thursday 27 October at 17.35 and online on S4C Clic, will follow pupils from Ysgol Bro Teifi (Ceredigion), Glan y Môr (Gwynedd), Gwent Is Coed (Newport) and Maes Garmon (Flintshire) comprehensive schools as they pull out all the stops to avoid the Witch.

Each team has eight hours to complete seven challenges. The prize for succeeding in each game is a new set of coordinates which will guide them closer to safety.

Actress Mali Tudno Jones, the series narrator says,

“The teams are so brave! They have to solve every challenge to find safety and they face extreme challenges such as abseiling waterfalls, white water rafting, climbing, and sea kayaking, all whilst the clock is ticking. And there’s more at stake this time, as each team will lose members along the way. No one is safe.”

All episodes of Gwrach y Rhibyn will be available as a box set on the S4C Clic and S4C Stwnsh websites and apps. The first series, featuring Bro Myrddin, Brynrefail, Eifionydd and Tryfan schools, is also available to watch online.
