Hazlewoods’ Cardiff office has announced Tŷ Hafan as its inaugural Charity of the Year, with all funds raised by the team over the next 12 months supporting the Welsh children’s hospice.

The partnership marks a significant milestone for the firm’s Cardiff office, which for the first time will champion its own Charity of the Year alongside Hazlewoods’ wider community and fundraising programme.

The initiative reflects the continued growth of the team in South Wales and its commitment to supporting causes that make a meaningful difference within the local community.

Tŷ Hafan provides specialist care and support for children with life-shortening conditions and their families across Wales, ensuring that no family faces the challenges of a child’s short life alone. The charity delivers vital services both at its hospice in Sully and within communities across mid Wales, south east Wales and south west Wales.

The Cardiff team has already supported Tŷ Hafan with fundraising activities, but the new partnership will see all charity fundraising efforts throughout the year dedicated to the organisation. Colleagues will take part in a range of events and initiatives, including the Cardiff Half Marathon, to raise both funds and awareness of the charity’s work.

Tom Davies, Director at Hazlewoods’ Cardiff location, said: “We are incredibly proud to name Tŷ Hafan as the Cardiff office’s first dedicated Charity of the Year. The work the charity does to support children with life-shortening conditions and their families is truly inspiring, and we are excited to play our part in helping them continue delivering these vital services.

“As our Cardiff office continues to grow, it felt important to establish a partnership with a charity that has such a meaningful impact on the communities around us. Giving back to those communities is an important part of who we are, and we’re proud to support an organisation that makes such a tangible difference to people’s lives.”

Bruce Black, Hazlewoods Cardiff Tax lead Director added, “Our team has already shown great enthusiasm for supporting Tŷ Hafan and we’re looking forward to building on that throughout the year.”

Megan Rees-Smith, Senior Relationship Fundraiser at Tŷ Hafan, added: “We are so pleased and grateful to have been chosen by Hazlewoods’ team as the inaugural charity of the year for their Cardiff office.

“Right now, nine out of ten families in Wales who have a child with a life-shortening condition are living without the support of a children’s hospice. This means that thousands of families are living their child’s short life alone and often without any support. With teams like Hazlewoods, we can walk alongside every family that needs us, supporting them through their child’s life, death and beyond.”
