Work is well under way on the new Hollywood Bowl in St David’s shopping centre in Cardiff city centre, with the first signs now up and people starting to spot the arrival of the entertainment venue.

This marks a major step forward for the project, which is set to bring one of the UK’s largest family activity centres to the heart of the capital later this year.

The new site will stretch across 45,000 square feet over two floors and include a mix of bowling, interactive games and other activities. Inside, there will be traditional ten-pin and duckpin bowling lanes, an arcade area with the latest games and pool tables, interactive darts and a dedicated space for electric go-karting – a first for a Hollywood Bowl venue in Cardiff. Food and drink offerings will also be part of the experience, making it a full day out for friends and families.

This will be the second Hollywood Bowl in Cardiff, joining the existing venue at The Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay, and represents the company’s largest new centre opening in the UK. The arrival in St David’s reflects growing confidence in the city’s leisure scene, and the signs up around the city confirm how close the launch is becoming.

Work continues ahead of the planned opening in 2026, and advance bookings are expected to open soon.

Locals and visitors alike are looking forward to seeing the finished venue and what it will bring to Cardiff’s city centre leisure offer.
