South Wales headquartered construction firm, Jehu Group, has appointed two new directors to support the continued growth across the group, following a successful first quarter of 2019 with an order book worth more than £86m. The new directors will work alongside the established senior management team.

[aoa id=”1″]Neil McCarthy, previously Commercial Director for Jehu Project Services, has stepped up to take on the newly created role of Managing Director of Jehu Project Services. Jehu Project Services currently delivers 14 to 16 concurrent schemes within the affordable housing, care, commercial and retail sectors with average contract values exceeding £6.5m.[/aoa]

Mr. McCarthy said of his new role: “The contracting element of the group’s business has witnessed sustained growth over the last few years, I am honoured to lead such a great team of people as we continue that growth to the next stage of our development. It is certainly an exciting time for us.”

Dafydd Cantwell has been promoted to Land and Partnership Director, where he will be responsible for fulfilling the land acquisition function for the Jehu Group as a whole. The group’s land team recently completed on more than a dozen development sites for future projects across a wide geographical area, including land at Coed Darcy, Former Pencoed Primary School, land off Subway Road, Barry, land off Coverack Road, Newport to name a few.

Mr. Cantwell joined Jehu Group in 2016 as Head of Development and Partnerships after working at Hafod Housing Association for ten years within land and development roles.

Dafydd added about his role: “We have had an incredible first half of the year with the land deals we have completed. What is exciting is that these are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the sites that we consider and appraise. As the group’s business continues to grow, so is the work of the land team, as we want to ensure that we can continue to provide the business with the timely build opportunities that it needs.”

The two promotions are part of the wider growth strategy for the business and will allow the family-owned firm to continue to strengthen its position as an industry leader, allowing group managing director for construction, Marc Jehu to take a more strategic view of the landscape and future direction of the group.

Marc Jehu, added: “The Group has had a fantastic year, these two appointments will be significant for us in order to support our growth and help us to deliver our future pipeline.”
