Vital health workers and people making essential journeys across Wales can access the latest public transport information thanks to Traveline Cymru’s dedicated Coronavirus page.

Traveline Cymru is providing up-to-date train and bus information via its page, as operators continue to alter their timetables in a bid to stem the spread of the virus, and better serve key workers.

The Welsh Government public transport information service is supporting key workers, and those making essential journeys, following the Government’s ban on all non-essential travel this week.

Through its Coronavirus page those making essential journeys can access the latest changes, cancellations , and up-to-date timetables from bus and rail operators.

It will also feature regularly updated information on free travel offers and additional services supporting key workers during this time.

Jo Foxall, managing director at Traveline Cymru, said: “The Coronavirus outbreak is rapidly evolving and having an unprecedented impact across all areas of life worldwide.

“The transport industry is no different, and we have seen dramatic changes to services across all operators over the past week.

“Despite this, vital NHS staff and key workers still need access to reliable modes of transport to enable them to continue to provide an invaluable service at this challenging time.

“Equally, people across Wales may also need to use bus or rail services to visit vulnerable relatives or collect household essentials.

“As such, our dedicated Coronavirus page is there to support all those making these essential journeys,  and will keep them updated on rapidly changing timetable and route alterations over the coming weeks.

“Our data team is working around the clock to update our pages with all the latest information, which we’d like to thank our operator and local authority partners for providing us with.

“We’d like to reassure our customers that we’ll continue providing updates to help get you where you’re going safely.

“Finally, we’d like to offer our heartfelt thanks to all those frontline workers who continue to travel to work daily to support people across the country.”

Traveline Cymru’s office is now closed, however customers can contact the team via the freephone number 0800 464 0000 or by emailing [email protected] for additional support.
