Motorpoint Newport is celebrating its 20th birthday, having first opened its doors to car buyers on 23rd August 2005.

Located on Queensway Meadow Industrial Estate, the store was Motorpoint’s fourth retail site and its first location in Wales. Since then, the used–car retailer has expanded significantly, with 21 stores, giving car buyers the flexibility to shop either in-store, online or over the phone.

With almost 40,000 customers having bought more than one vehicle from Motorpoint Newport, the store has built a solid reputation as the car buyer’s champion over the last two decades.

Drawing customers from across South Wales and the South West of England, the 12–acre site boasts upwards of 500 vehicles for motorists to browse – many available to drive away the same day.

Discussing the store’s birthday and what it means to have such a long-standing presence in the area, Chris Brown, general sales manager at Motorpoint Newport, said: “Car buying today might look very different to when we first opened our doors back in 2005, but one thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to offering customers an unrivalled choice of vehicles at unbeatable prices.

“The level of support we’ve received over the last 20 years has been incredible, and we’re so grateful that our customers trust us to help them find their next car. We’reproud to have so many repeat customers, who come to us every time they want to change their car.”

“We’re committed to build on what we’ve created over the last twenty years and look forward to many more years of providing customers with the best choice, value, quality and service possible.”

Motorpoint Newport has several long-standing members of staff who have been with the store since it first opened, including workshop manager, Mike Hopkins and vehicle preparation assistant, Lyndon Cork.
