    Police search for Cardiff man who escaped custody at University Hospital of Wales

    Daniel Flynn, from Rumney, Cardiff, is wanted on suspicion of escaping from lawful custody while he was on an hospital escort.

    Just after 7pm on Monday, October 13, South Wales Police received a report that an individual had escaped lawful custody from prison staff while at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

    Flynn, 24, was last seen at the hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department which he was attending for medical treatment.

    Earlier that day, he had been sentenced at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court to eight weeks in prison for criminal damage.

    He was wearing New Balance trainers, grey joggers, and a grey jumper.

    Detective Inspector Dan Todd said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace Daniel Flynn.

    “We would ask anyone who has seen Daniel Flynn or has any information on his whereabouts to please contact South Wales Police.

    “If you do not wish to speak to police, please call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111”.
