Principality Building Society has been partying with a purpose to celebrate the milestone anniversaries of its charity partners.

Throughout Wales and the borders, the Society’s branches have hosted a variety of fundraisers to celebrate Teenage Cancer Trust Cymru’s 10th anniversary and Alzheimer’s Society 40th anniversary as a charity.

Fundraising activities have included a vintage style tea party, raffle and a spinathon, with the Society’s branches encouraging their Members to find out more about the incredible support both charities provide to people living with dementia and cancer.

The Society’s three-year partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust Cymru and Alzheimer’s Society Cymru began in January 2019. Since then, Principality has fundraised over £120,000 for both charities.

James Harper, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, Principality Building Society said:

“We’re proud to be celebrating our charity partners as they both reach milestone anniversaries. Colleagues at Principality are dedicated to helping the communities they live in and fundraising to support the local service provisions of two outstanding charities, is a key part of this. We look forward to raising more important funds for our two charities over the next two years, which we hope will help them provide vital support to people who need it.”

Yvette James, Fundraising Coordinator, Teenage Cancer Trust said:

“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Principality Building Society and we’re so grateful to the Society for its support and generosity. This week’s fundraising activities are a fantastic way to celebrate the partnership and mark a milestone year for Teenage Cancer Trust Cymru. The funds raised by Principality will have a huge impact on the lives of young people diagnosed with cancer in Wales, as they will be helping to support the provision of specialist outreach nurses in rural areas.”

Stacey Hawdon, Corporate Partnerships Executive, Alzheimer’s Society said:

“It’s been fantastic working with Principality colleagues to celebrate such a key milestone in style. The parties with a purpose have not only generated vital funds, they’ve helped raise awareness of the services we provide for families affected by dementia. Alzheimer’s Society’s flagship service, Dementia Connect will ensure that families across Wales will have access to guidance, support and information when they need it most so that no family has to face dementia alone.”
