Cardiff Bay’s premier entertainment destination, The Red Dragon Centre, has formed an exciting new partnership to launch a range of eco activities in a bid to encourage Welsh youngsters to ‘think green’ and learn more about the environment.

The Red Dragon Centre will be launching ‘RDC Eco Kids’, a series of thrilling learning activities set to run throughout the year. The activities will focus on different environmental themes to help encourage the younger generation to think green.

To kickstart the new initiative, RDC will be working with sustainable and environmental education organisation, EggSeeds, play services association, Re-Create, and The Pedal Emporium, a company who create pedal power bicycle generators to promote cycling and sustainability.

The launch event, which will be held on the 31st May, will focus on plastic awareness, and EggSeeds will be creating an Eco Dragon, made entirely of recycled materials, that will be installed just outside the centre during May half term.

Children from across Cardiff and South Wales will be able to play and interact with the dragon while learning about different types of recycled materials as well as the importance of reducing plastic waste.

Speaking about the new partnership, Emma Constantinou, Marketing Manager for The Red Dragon Centre said:

“We are thrilled to be launching our RDC Eco Kids project and working with EggSeeds to create fun activities for children in Cardiff and South Wales.

“Plastic awareness is rightfully a hot topic at present, and I think it is important for us to help educate children about reducing plastic waste and encouraging them to ’go green’.

“This is the first event of its kind for us at the RDC and I am delighted to work with some great organisations to put the event together and support a more sustainable future.”
