Street Food Circus is bringing its block party back to Roath Yard for four weekends of flavours from around the world from 10 June to 2 July.

The St Peter’s Street site, just off City Road in Roath, will host a rotating line-up of some of Wales’ best loved street food trucks, chefs and pop-ups.

Street food traders will be bringing the authentic flavours of India, Mexico, Greece, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, France, the USA, Argentina and, of course, Wales to Roath Yard including:

  • Fire & Flank – Argentinian steak and fries – British Street Food Awards ‘best main dish’ winner

  • Smokin’ Griddle – Classic Welsh beef burgers with a side of fries

  • Sin Nombre Taco – Fresh tacos and bold, authentic flavour combinations

  • Bao Selecta – Steamed bao buns celebrating the flavours of Korea, China and Japan

  • Keralan Karavan – South Indian flavour bombs – British Street Food Awards ‘best sandwich’ winner

  • Church of Churros – buckets of churros with a warm chocolate dip

  • Minto’s Patisserie – winner of Bake Off The Professionals 2021

  • Pasta al Sugo – Authentic fresh Italian pasta, local Welsh produce

  • Jackson’s Oyster Bar – Cardiff’s first dedicated oyster bar

  • Straight Outta Canton – Punjabi Barbecue

  • The Real Ting – Authentic Jamaican Street Food

  • Oasis – bringing the flavours from the refugee communities Oasis supports

  • Ya-Souvlaki – Greek Street Food, souvlaki wraps

  • The Welsh Creperie – classic sweet and savoury French crêpes

Drinks from Street Food Circus’ BOBO Bar truck include Newport’s Tiny Rebel brewery beers and signature cocktails made with Welsh spirits from the SFC mixologists. Live DJs throughout the weekend will be providing the party atmosphere.

Street Food Circus founder and ‘ringmaster’ Matt ‘the Hat’ explained:

“It’s great to be rolling back into Roath, with our unique Street Food block party. We’ve got the music, we’ve got the drinks, but above all, we’ve got the best street food line up around. We’re bringing some of Wales best loved trucks and traders to Roath, many with multiple awards for their food – and we’re thrilled to be welcoming some new faces to Roath Yard like Straight Outta Canton, Ya-Souvlaki, Minto’s Patisserie and Jackson’s Oyster Bar.

“Roath Yard is a great site for all weathers, with loads of sunny seating as well as plenty of cover and shade. After a spring of touring the Street Food Circus around south Wales we’re looking forward to summer in the city,” he said.

Street Food Circus is a collective of creative event producers who run an annual programme of street food festivals across Wales including Bridgend’s Forest Feastival, the new Big Banquet at Caldicot Castle and Carmarthen’s Street Food Cinema.

St Peter’s Street is easy to find on foot, just off City Road or from Richmond Road in Roath. By train, Cardiff Queen Street and Cathays Station are around a 10 minute walk away. Entry to the site if free. Full details at roathyard.co.uk
