With just 50 days to go until Christmas the team at The Red Dragon Centre, Cardiff Bay’s leading entertainment destination, is putting the finishing touches on its festive offering, to ensure visitors have a particularly magical experience this Christmas.

After a tough year for many, The Red Dragon Centre team knows that people are in need of a bit of escapism now, more than ever, and they are going the extra mile to surprise and delight visitors to The Centre over the coming weeks.

The magic moments will start from the minute visitors arrive; customers will be greeted with a colonnade of twinkling lights running through the car park and giant Christmas puddings at the main entrance, before they step inside to see The Centre’s infamous Christmas tree, seasonal light projections and their newest tenant, Blizzard the Snow Dragon.

New for 2020, Blizzard the Snow Dragon is a state-of-the-art augmented reality (AR) creation which will be visible to anyone with a smart phone, enabling them to see Blizzard and share their experiences with the dragon on social media. While AR itself has been around for a while, this is the first time the technology has been so accessible and The Red Dragon Centre will be the UK’s first entertainment venue to have the technology on display this Christmas.

Whether it’s a family photo in front of the Christmas tree, getting a perfect strike in bowling or a selfie with Blizzard, guests are being encouraged to share their #RDCMagicMoments on social media for the chance to win an extra special treat.

Emma Constantinou, marketing manager at The Red Dragon Centre, said: “This Christmas is undoubtedly going to feel very different to past Christmases but after everything that has happened in 2020, we could all do with a bit of festive cheer.

“We hope that our magic moments campaign will inject a bit of sparkle to our guests’ visit to The Centre. As well as the visual delights on offer, we hope that there might be even more surprises in store for some of our lucky visitors.

“Of course, when we were planning our Christmas events, our primary concern was people’s safety and everything has been carefully orchestrated to ensure that we created pockets of joy within The Centre, which people can enjoy at a safe distance from one another.

“The Centre’s brands have worked so hard this year, in the most challenging of circumstances, and they can’t wait to welcome customers back as soon as they can.”

Since reopening to the public in the summer, The Red Dragon Centre has introduced a multitude of health and safety measures with the wellbeing of both visitors and staff at their heart.
