The full range of Toyota Professional electric vans is giving Cardiff company FleetEV the opportunity to support local authorities in Wales with vehicles adapted for specialist duties.

The company began helping public sector customers make the transition to electric vehicles in 2023. Recent examples of its work with Toyota EV models include a wheelchair-accessible school minibuses for Gwynnedd Council, adapted from a Proace Max heavy duty van; and Proace medium duty vans equipped for dog welfare teams in Merthyr Tydfil and Newport local authorities.

FleetEV has produced a video to showcase its services, profiling a van specially equipped for Merthyr Tydfil’s public health team, created with support from Lonsdale Commercials.

Further Proace Max-based school minibuses are in the pipeline for Conwy County Borough Council, as FleetEV increases the roll-out of electric vehicle technology across Wales, helping local authorities realise potential cost savings.

Jarrad Morris, FleetEV founder and chief executive, said: “Toyota’s electric commercial vehicles are helping Welsh councils make the switch to zero-emission fleets, from school minibuses to bespoke service vans. At FleetEV, we’re proud to support practical, cost-effective EV solutions that meet local authorities’ day-to-day needs while driving sustainability across Wales.”

Neil Broad, General Manager One Toyota Fleet Services, said: “We offer one of the widest LCV ranges in the UK market today, combined with a choice of powertrains that includes hybrid, battery electric and ICE to meet the wide requirements of UK businesses and public sector customers.  Furthermore, our Proace vans are designed for easy conversion for specialist roles. FleetEV is realising their potential not to just meet its customers precise requirements but also to help them make a successful switch to electrified transport.”
