Two men from Splott have been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of a van and machinery worth more than £100,000 following a major police day of action across Cardiff.
Kevin Price, 44, and Christopher Price, 47, were among 32 people arrested on Thursday January 15 as part of a city wide operation led by South Wales Police. The operation focused on locating and arresting people wanted for a range of offences.
The pair appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Friday January 16, where they were both remanded in custody.
Christopher Price has been charged with three counts of theft and one count of attempted theft. The charges relate to the alleged theft of a tree chipper, a Ford Transit van, a generator and welding equipment. Kevin Price faces one count of theft relating to the Ford Transit van.
The arrests formed part of a wider policing operation across Cardiff and surrounding areas, including Barry, Cathays, Cardiff Bay, Ely, Fairwater, Llanishen, Llanedeyrn and Roath.
In total, 32 people were arrested for a variety of offences, including theft, assault, rape, possession of an offensive weapon, domestic abuse, criminal damage, harassment and being wanted on warrant.
South Wales Police said the aim of the day of action was to bring wanted individuals into custody and disrupt criminal activity across the region. Further enquiries into the offences are ongoing.
