The GE Aviation Dragons were joined by Wales lock Cory Hill at the team’s kitting out session, which took place on site at Nantgarw (Friday 5 April).

[aoa id=”1″]The Dragons include employees from across the aviation maintenance facility and are overseen by Jamie Edwards, a member of the company’s Senior Leadership Team and the Team Manager. The kitting out session comes after the Dragons’ first outing in November against a team from the Welsh Government. The Dragons came home with a 24 – 19 win, after turning it round in the second half.[/aoa]

The Nantgarw-based company is the Welsh arm of GE Aviation, one of the world’s leading commercial and military jet engine manufacturers. The Wales site employs a workforce of over 1,300 people, working across all areas of the business providing maintenance, repair and overhaul services to commercial aircraft serving over 90 customers worldwide.

Speaking at the kitting out session, Jamie Edwards, Component Repair Leader at GE Aviation Wales said:

“It was a huge honour and privilege to have Cory join us for our kitting out session and to show him around our world-class aviation facility. The team and I are really looking forward to our next encounter – and now we are really going to look the part.

“It goes without saying that rugby is a huge part of the lives of so many of our colleagues at GE Aviation Wales. I’m especially pleased that together with GE Aviation Wales we’ve been able to reinvest in the team and get support from across the site to reinvigorate the team.”

In addition to helping present each of the players with their new kit, Cory also presented Jamie Edwards (pictured – left) and Nick Blakeney, Managing Director (pictured right) with a signed Wales team shirt to commemorate the visit.
