Cymru will face Ghana for the first time ever in a senior men’s international fixture at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday 2 June (KO time TBC).

The match will mark the first time an African nation has played in Wales, where Craig Bellamy’s side will face a star-studded Ghana team featuring Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams and Mohammed Kudus. The Black Stars have already confirmed their place in this summer’s FIFA World Cup where they will face England, Croatia and Panama in the group stage.

Cymru’s last and only match against an African nation in the men’s game was in June 1998 in Tunis, which featured current Head Coach Craig Bellamy.

Cymru’s participation in this summer’s FIFA World Cup in north America will depend on the outcome of the play-off pathway in March. Bellamy’s side face Bosnia & Herzegovina on Thursday 26 March and should they progress, Cymru will then face Italy or Northern Ireland in a play-off final on Tuesday 31 March.

A second match for the June international window (pre FIFA World Cup window) will be announced in due course.

Ticket information for the fixture will be announced in due course.
