In celebration of Visit Wales’ Year of The Sea 2018 a new promotional video has been launched which showcases what’s on offer at the popular Aberavon Seafront. Aberavon Seafront is becoming increasingly popular with visitors from far and wide, as people flock to this easily accessible destination which has seen over £22 million of investment in recent years.

Aberavon Seafront is one of Wales’ longest beaches, the contemporary promenade stretches for two miles and has great views overlooking Swansea Bay and Mumbles.

In the winter the seafront is popular with dog walkers, families and cyclists all wrapped up in their winter woollens, but throughout the rest of the year Aberavon is great for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the sea air.

Along with great views the seafront also serves up numerous cafes, ice cream parlours, restaurants and public houses where you can count on finding everything from traditional fish and chips to excellent quality dining.

Many people visit Aberavon Seafront for a leisurely stroll or cycle ride along the promenade, but, if you are looking for something a little more active to do with the family why not try the Adventure Golf Course, Aqua Splash Play Pool, Adventure Playground and Toddler Playground for great fun in the outdoors.

With its very own Best Western Aberavon Beach Hotel, Aberavon Seafront is also home to the Reel six screen cinema and the brand new Aberavon Leisure and Fitness Centre which has state of the art facilities and a soft play adventure playground, all perfect indoor options if the weather forecast doesn’t live up to expectations!

The beach is easily accessible and also has lots of facilities suitable for wheelchair users, families with pushchairs and visitors with mobility needs. The promenade is only a stone’s throw from a number of car parks with plenty of disabled spaces available.

Just off the promenade there are also lots of open green spaces to enjoy a picnic or a place to play games with friends and family. There are also peaceful sunken gardens with access slopes, which are great if you are looking for something a little more tranquil or somewhere to shelter from the sea breeze.

Cllr Annette Wingrave, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Sustainable Development at Neath Port Talbot Council said,

“It is hugely encouraging to see Aberavon Seafront becoming just as popular as a visitor destination as it is with the people who live in Neath Port Talbot. Visitors to the Seafront are having a positive impact on the tourism economy in our area.”
