RenewableUK Cymru is once again delighted to announce the headline sponsor for its Smart Energy Wales conference and exhibition in July, is Welsh Government.  The event will take place on Wednesday 4 July in the SSE SWALEC in Cardiff.

Sponsoring the event for the fourth successive year, Welsh Government’s continued backing for Smart Energy Wales demonstrates a consistent awareness of the importance of the sector, and a firm commitment to helping Welsh households, businesses and communities reap the benefits of this fast-moving sector.

Lesley Griffiths, Cabinet Secretary for Energy, Planning and Rural Affairs, will be giving the keynote political speech at the event.  With Ministerial appearances at each of the previous years, this event is firmly positioned in Wales’ energy calendar as a key opportunity to learn, network and do business.

Speaking about the sponsorship, David Clubb, Director of RenewableUK Cymru, said:

“When we started Smart Energy Wales four years ago, many of the things we talked about were concepts and aspirations.  Now we are talking about actual products and projects that are changing people’s lives.  Welsh Government’s sponsorship is important as it shows its commitment to the sector and is a platform to showcase the work it is doing through its Smart Living programme.”

Cabinet Secretary for Energy, Planning and Rural Affairs, Lesley Griffiths, said: “We have a long-standing commitment to a smarter and low carbon future to develop a prosperous low carbon future.  Smart energy offers significant business opportunities and economic benefits for Wales, as well as helping us to achieve our low carbon ambitions.”

Tickets are on sale at www.smartenergy.wales and cost £25 for RenewableUK Cymru members and £60 for non-members.
