School’s out for Easter but parents shouldn’t fret, there is plenty going on in the Welsh Capital to keep the children amused, rain or shine. Here is our round up of what’s on this Easter.

For free fun and fresh sea air head to Cardiff Bay: Enjoy panoramic views and a flat 800 metre stretch along the Barrage embankment, ideal for walks or bike rides. Browse free exhibitions, snap a selfie with the Enormous Crocodile or visit the children’s play area, skate plaza and outdoor gym. If you want to get closer to the water tour the Bay in style on a boat ride.

To add to the fun, download the Tiger Bay Trail App for your chance to win a Roald Dahl-themed activity and delicious afternoon tea for the whole family at Octavo’s Book Café in Cardiff Bay!

Go back to nature:Covering an area of around eight hectares, the Cardiff Bay Wetlands Reserve is located on the northern shore between St David’s Hotel and the River Taff. The area supports a rich diversity of plants and animals, including invertebrates, fish and other wildlife. A viewing platform extends out over the water, providing the perfect spot for bird watching. To enhance your visit download the free Wildlife Explorer Trail activity pack and learn about the species inhabiting the reserve as you go.https://cardiffharbour.com/education/

Head to Cardiff International White Water (CIWW)forinstant fun and an adrenaline. During the school holidays, the on-demand white water centre is running Family Rafting sessions, which see the level and speed of the water lowered to accommodate younger members of the family. Kids can also take part in paddle taster sessions, from just £10 per person, or hone their skills by signing up for 5-day Multi Activity or Paddle School, from £150 per person.*
Hire a bike from CIWW and explore the beautiful Bay Trail. Bike hire costs £10 and there’s no need to book in advance – ideal for those impromptu days out. Visitwww.ciww.comfor further details.

Local libraries, Hubs and leisure centres also have a host of activities for children, suitable whatever the weather.
