Iconic Welsh brewer, Tomos Watkin Brewery, is proud to announce that as of next week, its much-loved Welsh ales, Blodwen and Dragon’s Keep, will be available in every Waitrose and Sainsbury’s store across Wales.

This dual listing marks a major step forward for the independent brewery, following recent successes with Ocado nationally and CKS Supermarkets across South Wales. It highlights a growing appetite for authentic Welsh beer on supermarket shelves and represents an important milestone in Tomos Watkin’s journey under its new ownership.

The acquisition by local entrepreneurial couple, Joelle and Saraha Drummond has breathed fresh life into the historic brand, strengthening its presence in retail while staying true to its roots. With a focus on heritage, provenance, and community, the brewery is committed to preserving Welsh brewing for future generations to enjoy.

Blodwen is a true Tomos Watkin classic. Brewed for decades, this crisp blonde ale honours the hardworking women of Wales and has long been a symbol of the brewery’s deep connection to community and tradition. Alongside her stands Dragon’s Keep, a bold and full-bodied IPA created under the brewery’s new ownership. This fresh addition signals a new chapter for Tomos Watkin, one that celebrates innovation while staying firmly rooted in Welsh heritage.

Joelle Drummond, Director of Tomos Watkin, said:

“Having Blodwen and Dragon’s Keep on shelves in every Waitrose and Sainsbury’s across Wales is a huge moment for us. Blodwen honours our heritage whilst Dragon’s Keep marks a new chapter under fresh ownership. Together, they prove that independent Welsh beer deserves a seat at the table and a rightful place in major retail.”

Blodwen and Dragon’s Keep will be available in Waitrose stores from Monday 13th October and Blodwen will be available in Sainsbury’s stores from Thursday 16th October.
