The A472 from Ty Penalta / Tredomen roundabout, to the Caerphilly Road roundabout as you approach Nelson will be closed from 7am on Saturday 31 July until 4pm on Sunday 1 August.
The works include the investigation, repair and verification of blockages at four drainage crossing points on the A472.
A full signed diversion will be put in place, residents and businesses can access their properties during this closure period.
The remainder of the works will be undertaken with traffic control from 1 August Sunday 4pm for 10 days until the remedial works are completed.
