Swansea Council has moved to address what it says is misinformation circulating online about preparatory works currently taking place at Kilvey Hill for the Skyline outdoor leisure destination. The council has clarified a number of claims being shared on social media, setting out what it describes as the facts behind the development. A man from Swansea has been jailed after he was found guilty of rape. 35-year-old Yogesh Parmar, from Mount Pleasant, pleaded not guilty to the offence but was found guilty on January 26. Parmar was also found guilty of engaging in coercive/controlling behaviour, having also pleaded not guilty to this offence. He has been sentenced to 11 years in prison. Police are appealing for witnesses after a driver failed to stop and travelled on the wrong side of the road in Swansea. South Wales Police said the incident happened at around 3.50pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Officers were dealing with a failure to stop involving a white Citroen DS3, registration LR13 AXV, which was heading down Fabian Way. More than 8,800 streetlights across Newport will now remain on between midnight and 6am, after the council completed a major upgrade programme across the city. Since July last year, Newport City Council has been working through communities to change the timing sensors on thousands of streetlights.
