The final set of restoration works at the historic Newport Market Arcade begins this week. The restoration project, which began back in 2018, has seen the council transform the once declining arcade into a vibrant and viable commercial attraction within the city centre. Located next to Newport Market and on High Street, the arcade has occupied an important spot right at the heart of the city centre for generations. Multiply is a new programme, designed by the UK Government, to help transform the lives of adults across the UK, by improving their functional numeracy skills and has launched in Caerphilly County Borough Council! Campaigner Tassia Haines has been praised by the Health Minister, Eluned Morgan, for her efforts to improve services for metastatic breast cancer in Wales. Tassia, who has incurable breast cancer, had her petition for more metastatic breast cancer nurses heard in the Senedd last year. The petition also called for better awareness of symptoms and better data on the care of people with metastatic breast cancer. As part of a four-nation agreement, the Welsh Government has announced that restrictions preventing some LGBTQ+ people from donating tissue, surgical bone and stem cells will be lifted in Wales.
