Climate Change Minister Julie James has visited a Cardiff site that will soon host homes for more than 150 families. The visit to the former Cardiff Gasworks site was held to mark the first anniversary of the Welsh Government’s Transitional Accommodation Capital Programme (TACP). A suite of interventions to support Welsh language communities thrive economically as part of the Welsh Government’s 3 year multi-million-pound ARFOR programme has been revealed by Economy Minister Vaughan Gething and Plaid Cymru Designated Member Cefin Campbell at the National Eisteddfod in Llŷn ac Eifionydd today. WELSH fabricator Dudley’s Aluminium has secured a new project in Llanelli which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people across the region. Dudley’s is working with Bouygues UK on the Pentre Awel development for Carmarthenshire County Council, the largest ever regeneration project of its size in south west Wales. As well as supporting the region’s health and wellbeing, Pentre Awel will create over 1,800 jobs, training and apprenticeship opportunities and is expected to boost the local economy by £467m over 15 years. A major drive has been launched to promote a “hidden gem” of Welsh tourism that includes the world’s deepest hotel, beautiful ospreys and husky and go-kart racing.
