Caerphilly County Borough Council has leased the upper car park at the country park from Llanover Estate for a number of years, with the current agreement in place since 1999. Cardiff Council has stepped up efforts to tackle waste and improve the appearance of neighbourhoods across the city. Waste Enforcement teams have been out across Cardiff, inspecting dumped rubbish, speaking with residents and offering advice on how to dispose of waste responsibly. As part of the latest activity, a total of 1,480kg of waste has been removed. The council has warned that where fly-tipping or other waste offences are identified, enforcement action will be taken where there is sufficient evidence to prosecute. New and growing businesses across Bridgend County Borough have created more than one hundred jobs over the last year with support from the council’s Business Start-up Fund. Since April 2025, the fund has supported local entrepreneurs to establish and expand their businesses, leading to the creation of over one hundred jobs across the county borough. A man who stalked two young women has been jailed following a South Wales Police investigation. Zulfkar Ahmed, 67, of Grangetown, has been jailed for three years for two counts of stalking involving serious alarm/distress, and one count of breaching a stalking prevention order. Ahmed, who was jailed on April 15, had previously pleaded not guilty to the offences but was found guilty by a jury following a four day trial at Cardiff Crown Court on February 13. A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 49-year-old man in Wrexham. North Wales Police confirmed that an investigation was launched after Linas Buta died with a head injury at a property on Bryn Glas in Rhos on Friday, 27 March.
