When a mural by the world’s most famous street artist, Banksy, appeared overnight in Port Talbot it caused a sensation, but also a problem. Despite a local campaign, the mural called ‘Seasons Greetings’ was sold to an art dealer and taken to an undisclosed location over the border in England. A new housing development which is beginning to take shape in Llantwit Fardre is set to open to the public next month. Bellway is delivering 95 new homes at Coed Derw, the housebuilder’s latest project in Wales, which is transforming a former brownfield site off Llantrisant Road into a new residential neighbourhood. Neath-based construction firm J.G. Hale Construction has completed work on an innovative development for housing provider Pobl Group, which has created 45 new sustainable homes alongside a community hub in the Treberth area of Newport.
