Red Valley Farm in Carmarthen is celebrating coming first in Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales’s ‘Put Your Best Sausage Forward 2022’ competition, with their wild garlic sausages crowned as the very best bangers in Wales. There were tears of joy when a renowned male voice choir paid a surprise visit to a care home to sing happy birthday to a much-loved former member who lives there. David Edwards, who hails from the Blaenau Ffestiniog area, had no idea that members of Côr Meibion y Brythoniaid were gathering outside Pendine Park’s Bryn Seiont Newydd in Caernarfon when they arrived to wish him many happy returns. The eisteddfod chair awarded to a soldier who died in the First World War, together with other historical objects, will be central to Aberystwyth University’s activities at this year’s National Eisteddfod as it marks the start of its 150th anniversary celebrations. The University was founded in 1872 following efforts to raise money locally and nationally to establish the first university in Wales, and this August marks the beginning of its 150th academic year. Staff at EE’s Merthyr Tydfil call centre have been inspired to support the British Heart Foundation in a series of epic challenges, following the loss of a much-loved friend and colleague who suffered a fatal cardiac arrest at work last year. Despite the team’s best efforts, performing CPR and using a defibrillator on 42-year-old David Vaughan, who had previously shown no signs of a heart condition, he passed away suddenly after collapsing on 3rd June 2020. Since opening its doors in 2019, the historical Grade II listed hub Y Shed in Meliden, near Prestatyn, has been a hit with locals and visitors from further afield. Peter Lynn and Partners are proud to help the homeless in Swansea this summer by continuing their support of The Rucksack Appeal Swansea. Coordinated by Paula Stockley (who founded the appeal), the initiative aims to provide Rucksacks filled with essential items to hand out to anyone who finds themselves homeless or rough sleeping in the City. THE redevelopment of a beloved North Wales landmark received towering support from leading names in construction, safety, and engineering.
