Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Cabinet has this week (26th September) agreed proposals to extend free car parking in its town centres until January 2023. In addition, when parking charges are reintroduced, the initial hourly cost will be reduced to 40p.  New ticketing machines will also be installed in council owned car parks, making it easier for visitors to pay for parking. Surging inflation and rocketing energy costs will have a significant impact on Powys County Council’s financial planning for this and future financial years, the Cabinet has been warned.
