A charity shop volunteer from Bridgend has won a prestigious award from the British Heart Foundation in recognition of her outstating contribution. The team from National Trust Gower recently donated five cherry blossom trees to pupils from Knelston Primary school, to support the children with education around wildlife and climate change.  The school was the first in the area to receive the trees, with the objective of increasing a nature-focused space for everyone to enjoy, whilst supporting local nature and wildlife.  Pupils from the school’s ‘Eco-Club’ chose where their new trees would be planted, before digging the holes and watering them in, with the help of National Trust staff.  Sally Thomas, Teacher at Knelston Primary School, said:   “We spent a wonderful…

The summer Tenby Pedestrianisation scheme will begin on Monday 4th July and will operate daily between 11am and 5.30pm until Friday 9th September. The scheme will again see the town divided into three zones with each zone allowing different levels of vehicle access. With the increase in fuel prices, Trading Standards officers from Merthyr Tydfil have carried out checks at petrol stations across the county to ensure accurate measures of fuel are being delivered to consumers. In total, 74 fuel pumps across five sites were tested and all were found to be correct.
