RCT Council has appointed a contractor to carry out ground investigations at Graig Ddu Tip in Dinas. Work from today will inform a detailed review of the site and enable additional monitoring on top of ongoing regular inspections. Jackson Drilling Holdings Ltd will begin the investigatory work within the historical colliery spoil tip from Monday, October 25. As Castle Street re-opens to private vehicles by the end of October, controls are being put in place to manage traffic flow in this part of the city centre. The new bus gate on Westgate Street will help the control room manage this traffic flow, along with additional controls to junctions on adjoining streets, on Cathedral Road, Dumphries Place and North Road. Plans to create two new theatres, including a dedicated major trauma theatre, at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff have been approved by the Health Minister. Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking up to £33.54m for new hybrid and major trauma theatres and recovery areas in a specialist new-build facility at the hospital.
