Will Renwick has been running across every single mountain in the country – 500 miles South to North, solo and unsupported. It is a brutal challenge that’s never been attempted before – 189 mountains, in just 3 weeks, all the while carrying his camping gear on his back.  His ankles are aching, he has holes in his feet and his one lighter has broken, meaning his- ‘boil in a bag’ meals are now eaten cold. Over two hundred people took part in The Sparkle Walk on September 18, raising thousands of pounds to support the work of City Hospice, Cardiff’s local hospice. Participants donned glitter and glowsticks for the 10k night-time walk, with many also carrying photographs of their loved ones to keep them and their memory close during the event. Chepstow based IQ Endoscopes has completed a Series A equity funding round exceeding £4 million. The round has been led by the Development Bank of Wales and Creo Medical PLC . The investment will allow IQ Endoscopes to achieve regulatory approval for its single use flexible gastroscope, as well as accelerating the development of its single use flexible colonoscope. A budding fashion designer from Cardiff who launched her own sustainable swimwear business during lockdown is already making waves with Instagram influencers and reality TV stars. 24-year-old Lydia Hitchings’ business, Rosy Cheeks, produces hand-made, made-to-order bikinis in a bid to reduce waste and challenge fast fashion. A Flintshire hotel and conference centre has invested £500,000 into the first stage of a wide-scale refurbishment as it aims to make a strong rebound post-pandemic. The Beaufort Park Hotel in New Brighton has undergone a major refurbishment of its main function centre as well as the first phase in a total redesign of the hotel’s 105 rooms. A SUPER-fit cycling enthusiast who had a sudden cardiac arrest in his sleep survived thanks to the actions of his quick-thinking wife. Jennifer Dunne was woken in the early hours of the morning by husband Geraint’s ‘snoring’ – but amusement turned to panic when she could not rouse him. Amazon today announced it is hiring for 20,000 seasonal positions across its UK network of fulfilment centres, sortation centres and delivery stations during the festive season, including more than 1,000 at the Swansea fulfilment centre and delivery station in Port Talbot. Today, 4 October 2021, the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) has launched an eight-week consultation on how its services will help Welsh language speakers make the most of their money and pensions.  The consultation, which is available on the MaPS website, invites all those with an interest in the Welsh language or MaPS services to read a new draft Welsh Language Scheme and feedback thoughts and comments by 5pm on Friday 26 November 2021.  All feedback in response to this consultation will be considered when finalising the Scheme. MaPS will evidence all changes made, before submitting the final Scheme to the Welsh Language Commissioner for approval. …
