A SEA of pink filled Singleton Park for the return of Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life event in Swansea. More than 700 people united against cancer for the 3K, 5K and 10k events, which were cancelled last year due to the pandemic. One of the participants was 90-year-old Connie Fouracre who completed the 5K event alongside her family. The event was particular poignant for Connie from Port Talbot as it took place on the birthday of her late son, Christopher, who sadly died from oesophageal cancer in 2018. Two people, a 43-year-old woman from Morecambe and a 51-year-old man from Southport, have been charged with running a brothel following an investigation by Tarian, the Regional Organised Crime Unit for southern Wales. Welsh Government has issued a warning that fake vaccine consent forms may be circulating in schools. The bogus forms have reportedly been sent to schools across the UK by anti-vaccine groups after it was announced that all children aged 12-15 would be offered their first dose by the end of the October half-term. Under an ‘NHS Vaccines’ logo, the form falsely claims that the vaccine is a risk for ‘strokes, blindness, deafness, clotting, miscarriages, anaphylaxis and cardiovascular disorders’. A number of changes to electoral boundary arrangements in Cardiff will take place over the coming months, following a decision announced today by the Welsh Government Minister for Finance and Local Government. The changes seek to ensure that the ratio of local government electors to the number of councillors in a ward is, as nearly as may be, the same in each ward in the city.
