Two drug dealers who held a Cardiff teenager captive in a London flat and forced him to package-up crack cocaine and heroin have both been jailed. The boy was found when Metropolitan Police officers turned up at the address looking for somebody wanted for an unrelated matter. Abdullahi Dable, 26, and Malik Touray, 20, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday when they were jailed for a total of eight years. Officers investigating the disappearance of 22-year-old Gwenno Ephraim continue to appeal for information to identify an individual who may hold information vital to their enquiries. Gwenno was last seen on the night of Monday, 28 July in the upper Bangor area. She is known to have walked in the direction of Menai Bridge. CCTV footage reviewed by investigators appears to show her walking alone between 10:20pm and 11:10pm. It is understood Gwenno had reached the Menai Suspension Bridge shortly before 11.10pm. Refurbishment works have officially begun at Cardiff Dogs Home, marking a major step forward in improving facilities for lost and abandoned dogs in Cardiff. The refurbishment is being made possible thanks to the extraordinary fundraising efforts of The Rescue Hotel, a registered charity established in 2020 to support Cardiff Dogs Home. Launched by former Welsh rugby captain and Rescue Hotel ambassador Sam Warburton, their fundraising campaign raised over £500,000 to upgrade the kennels. Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Trading Standards, in partnership with Gwent Police, has carried out a coordinated enforcement operation targeting the borough’s night-time economy. ‘Operation CHECK’ took place on the evening of Friday 25 July 2025, involving officers from the Council’s Trading Standards and Licensing teams. The multi-agency team visited several premises, including off-licences, takeaways, and taxi ranks, to check compliance with the Licensing Act 2003 and to help ensure a safe environment for the public.
