Aberystwyth University is set to become one of the greenest campuses in Wales after investing in multiple energy saving initiatives and announcing the development of its very own solar farm, which will power up to a quarter of its electricity needs. The £2.9m solar array, which will be located on university-owned land adjacent to its Fferm Penglais student accommodation, is expected to cut annual energy bills by over £320,000 and reduce energy related carbon emissions by 8% per year. Principality Building Society has partnered with science discovery centre and educational charity Xplore! to launch a financial education programme spanning North Wales, Chester and Shrewsbury. From now until Spring 2022, both the Society and Xplore! will join forces to teach money masterclass workshops to over 1,000 primary school children. The drive to deliver Covid booster vaccines across Swansea Bay as rapidly as possible has itself been boosted by community pharmacies. All 49 GP practices in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot joined the health board to deliver the first two doses of the vaccine. Ambulance crews have been supporting patients to access Live Fear Free for help and advice on domestic violence since its creation using a bespoke telephone number.
