Wales’ biggest sporting charity has announced that its annual Ian Spratling Memorial Golf Day will return in the Autumn. The hugely anticipated event organised by Lord’s Taverners Wales returns on Thursday 16th September after a year’s hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will see teams of varying handicaps from across South Wales compete for the charity trophy at the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club. The RSPCA has urged people in the Gwynedd area to report potentially suspicious activity against birds after a peregrine falcon was found with puncture wounds consistent with being shot. Rescuers from the animal welfare charity were alerted after a member of the public spotted the bird of prey struggling on a road in Penrhyndeudraeth; a few miles east of Porthmadog, last Tuesday (6 April). RSPCA Cymru collected the badly injured animal, and rushed him to the RSPCA’s specialist Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre in Nantwich for urgent treatment. The headline NatWest Wales Business Activity Index – a seasonally adjusted index that measures the month-on-month change in the combined output of the region’s manufacturing and service sectors – registered 55.1 in March, up notably from 43.7 in February, to signal a renewed rise in business activity across the Welsh private sector. Wales’ buoyant industrial property market has continued into 2021, according to Knight Frank, with transactions of industrial units larger than 50,000 sq ft reaching 492,000 sq ft in the first quarter of 2021, compared with 132,000 sq ft for the same period last year. Research by the global property consultancy showed that this take up figure was from five deals, with one letting and four sales taking place.
