The family of Ian Winder, the 46-year-old man who died following a collision which took place on the A4233, in Porth, on Wednesday, June 18, have paid tribute to him. Mid Wales-based bus operator Celtic Travel has been awarded a contract to deliver the TrawsCymru T4 service between Merthyr and Newtown from September. The popular route has been operating for 14 years and is well used by commuters, students, residents, and tourists accessing Bannau Brycheiniog, the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, and many of the lovely towns and villages along the route. Pembrokeshire residents can now recycle small electrical goods as part of their weekly kerbside recycling service. This initiative aims to reduce the amount of electrical waste going into black bags and instead ensure it is properly recycled. Caerphilly County Borough Council has approved a Community Asset Transfer (CAT) of the underutilised land at Dan Y Graig, Risca. Schools can apply for grants of up to £3,000 from Supporting Service Children in Education (SSCE) Cymru, to provide practical support for service children throughout their education. The programme currently supports over 2,000 children across Wales, thanks to £270,000 of Welsh Government funding. The way the Welsh Ambulance Service deals with the most serious 999 calls is changing from tomorrow (Tuesday 1 July). A new purple category is being introduced for people suffering from an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and the red category will be retained for the life-threatening emergencies, those at high risk of cardiac or respiratory arrest, including illnesses and trauma.
